DEDICATION OF THE PRAYER MOUNTAIN | Prophet Philip Banda

It has taken several years for this vision to be fulfilled. As the man of God, in November 2016, brought 12 original stones from Israel to South Africa for the purposes of building a prayer wall. It is 26 November 2022, that this vision was realized, culminating in the dedication of the prayer mountain in Holy land, South Africa.

DEDICATION OF THE PRAYER MOUNTAIN | Prophet Philip Banda

DEDICATION OF THE PRAYER MOUNTAIN IN HOLY LAND

On 26 November 2022, Prophet Philip Banda dedicated the prayer mountain to the Lord God Almighty in the presence of members of Impact for Christ Ministries from its Headquarters in Johannesburg, South Africa and across several branches in Africa and abroad. This was an incredible milestone, ever since God revealed to the servant of God, the significance of a prayer and having a place to pray, such as a prayer mountain.

This is also in line with how Jesus Christ prioritized prayer. The Bible tells us in Mark 1:35, that Jesus, “having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place, and there He prayed.” The book of Matthew 14:23, further says that, “Jesus went up to the mountain by Himself to pray...”

Moreover, God has also laid in the Prophets heart a love for the Jewish people and our deep connection to the people and the land of Israel. For it is through the Jewish people that God has revealed His love, purpose, power, faithfulness and loving kindness to the world. The Bible says in Genesis 12:2-5, to Abraham, that “I will make thee a great nation, I will bless thee, and make thy name great, and thou shalt be a blessing: and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee, and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

It is through the Jewish people that the nations of the world will be blessed. For Christians, the land of Israel holds a special significance, as it is the birthplace of the Christian faith. It is where the Lord Jesus Christ once lived, walked, taught, did amazing miracles, died and was resurrected.

Connection between the Prayer Mountain and Wailing Wall

It is in Israel, where you also find the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. The place considered by the Jews as the holiest site in the world. Since the destruction of the Second Temple, the Wailing Wall has served as a source of inspiration and the focus of yearning and prayer for the Jewish people throughout many generations. It is against this background, that the servant of God, Prophet Philip Banda had a vision to create a place of prayer in South Africa that would connect people in South Africa and in Africa to Israel.

On this day, the prayer mountain was opened to the public and the multitudes came wearing their kippahs, tallits and tzitzit.

The man of God described the prayer mountain as an uncommon place and a prayer bazaar, where all manner of prayer will be offered to God. The mountain will be open 24 hours a day and its free for people to come and pray. On the mountain, there is prayer wall which is comprised of 12 stones from Israel, each representing the twelve tribes of Israel, a menorah, and a cross which reminds one that the God we serve is the one and only true God of Israel, the God of Abraham, God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.

A menorah representing the light that never fades, the presence of the Lord God Almighty, and that He is a covenant keeping God that keeps his covenant from generation to generation. The cross, which represents the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. It is hoped that the prayer mountain, will be a place where Hashem presence will dwell. Similar to King Solomon’s dedication of the Temple in 1 Kings 8:22-52, it is hoped that the mountain be a place where people can offer their praise and worship to the Lord God Almighty in the Temple. Where Hashem sovereignty will reign supreme above all.

Where Hashem will regard the prayers and supplications of all who pray in the Temple and to listen to their cries and to hear from heaven and answer their prayers. That may Hashem, “open his eyes towards this Temple night and day, towards the place” as King Solomon said. It is a place whose foundation is towards the God of Israel and its foundation is intended to remain for generations and generations to come.
