Marriage is not fiction, marriage is not songs, and marriage is not movies! Stop living marriage life just getting along, to where? Harmony in marriage is not automatic. It takes blood, sweat and tears to have a harmonious home. It cannot just happen without hard work.

How much have you worked on your marriage? How much have you invested? 2 Corinthians 3:2, says, “You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men.” When we are talking about marriage, what are people reading about your marriage? To those who are married, what have you taught others about genuine marriage? You husband blaming your wife, nothing will change. You wife blaming your husband, nothing will change. You just frustrating each other and getting annoyed every time.

Titus 2:1-8 says, “But as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine: that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things - that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say to you.”

To love someone you have to be taught. A lot of times you love material of that person, their education and social standing of that person, you don’t love them. Loving, taking care of children, teaching others, these skills are learnt. A home should be a place of harmony not complication,

Proverbs 12: 4, says that, “An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who causes shame is like rottenness in his bones.” A wife is a crown of her husband, because the husband is king. The wife will come with the crown; the husband should make the wife ready to crown him. If you have not made your wife crown you, she will bring you shame. This man did not invest in the queen for her to make a crown for him. How much have you deposited, encouraged her so that now you are king over her life. Do you take time to understand her?

The key to having a harmonious home is prayer. 

Have you prayed for her and asked God to give you more love for her. Marriage we think its eating and producing children. You wife are you praying that your children take after their father in godly ways? What did the children learn from you? You can change your spouse and yourself through prayer. When there is harmony in the house, God will increase.

Have you brought before God issues related to money? The ways you see your partner spend money. Have you brought before God the way you and your partner view life, so that you become one? Have you brought before God the way you express your emotions when you see your wife/husband? Have you brought before God the way you want to raise up your children? It is only prayer that will go to the root of the problem. Prayer will get rid of all those difficulties. With Gods help in prayer, he will save you from a lot of suffering and frustration.
